Empowerment through football + WW2 memories

It’s been a bit quiet here for the last few days as Geoff and twins have gone on an adventure to France as part of inspired Father’s Day celebrations.

Geoff wanted to take to girls to watch the UK women’s football team play Argentina in the FIFA World Cup take was taking place just across the Channel in Le Havre, France.

He wanted to show the girls that women could do anything - even play football.

This came about because some of the girls’ friends said that women could not play football.

We had other plans for this Father’s Day weekend but it was important for him to take the children on this special trip that had to include two days off school.

In addition they managed to visit the grave of their great grandfather at Les Trois Pierres who was killed in 1944 by a bomb under the bridge in a part of France that was already liberated by the Allies.

Two out of the children’s great grandparents were killed in the Second World War - one on the Western Front in France and one on the Eastern Front in Russia.

These are ancestral memories and lessons we should never forget. The path to sustainability has no war in it. We must join forces as an inspired human species united by our bloodlines and our deep purpose to take care of our Mother Planet.

I am so proud that Geoff did this trip and so inspired that I am sharing the parenting journey with him.

Happy Father’s Day our special, unique, occasionally stubborn Daddy :)

Cherry on the cake - 1:0 to the British Lionesses.
